Magnolia Bakery is a pleasantly pastel sweet shop in the heart of downtown Chicago. Originating in New York, this franchise has expanded to six locations across the globe.



Everything looks delicious! They serve pies, cupcakes, cookies, and more.



A selection of tiny cakes are put in display in the front of the store.



Magnolia Bakery seems to be prepared for every occasion, as they sell cake stands, tea, and other baking related merchandise.



A cute apron sits in the window. This is actually what convinced me to come in!



Now for the important part! I buy a single cupcake for a taste-test.



A lemon cupcake with lemon custard inside and a coconut meringue topping. It was very sweet and I'm certainly not used to meringue and cake together. Nevertheless, it tasted quite good. I'm a huge coconut fan, so this was perfect.
